TCB Valve |
 |
The Original Lifesaver TCB Valve replaces your current banjo bolt in your brake caliper or master cylinder and acts like a shock absorber for your brake system.
Brake later into corners and ride with more feel in your braking system, giving you more confidence and faster lap times.
MBJ Technologies TCB Valve
What is it?
The TCB Valve is a Hydraulic Brake Control Valve. When Hydraulic brakes are applied it creates a pressure spike that locks on the high and low spots on the rotor which can cause your wheel to lock. The TCB Valve replaces the Banjo Bolt on your brake calliper or master cylinder and acts like a shock absorber. It turns the pressure spike into a pressure wave allowing the brake pads to apply an even amount of pressure to the entire rotor. Because of this the brakes will not lock up as early or as easily. Your brakes can still lock up with the TCB Valve installed, it just happens at a different level where the added control will work to your advantage.
The Original Lifesaver TCB valve fits 95% of any year, make or model motorcycle, ATV or snowmobile. The Original Lifesaver TCB helps put more control in uncontrolled braking circumstances. According to the California Highway Patrol, brake lock up is a factor in most motorcycle crashes.
No matter how experienced the rider is, a sudden or quick stop shifts 70% of the weight of the motorcycle to the front wheel.
A shift in weight to the front wheel during sudden deceleration makes the back of the motorcycle lighter and that results in the rear wheel locking up and skidding. Under those circumstances described herein, if you over-brake the front wheel it will tuck under the bike causing a fall.
What is the result?
Helps avoid wheel lock up allowing better control while braking
Increases your ability to regulate your braking during sudden or “panic” braking events
Increases the range you feel in your brake levers giving you confidence to brake hard using both front and rear brakes to their maximum potential
Allows your suspension and braking system to work together giving more control and better handling.
BETTER BRAKING WITH ORIGINAL LIFESAVER TCB
It can be difficult to regulate the amount of brake you're using because they often feel like they're either on or off. Studies show that in a panic situation the motorcyclist typically overbrakes the rear and underbrakes the front.
With the Original Lifesaver TCB Valve you'll feel more range in your brake levers and have an improved ability to regulate the amount of braking you apply giving you the confidence to brake hard using both brakes.
THE TCB VALVE IS NOT AN ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM
ABS is only available on a few models of motorcycles and there is no aftermarket ABS available that can be added to existing motorcycles that we are aware of. The Original Lifesaver TCB Valve is affordable, easily installed and FITS 95% OF ANY YEAR, MAKE OR MODEL MOTORCYCLE, ATV, OR SNOWMOBILE! Another important difference is Anti-lock Brake Systems are electronic and electronics can and do fail.
The Original Lifesaver TCB Valve is a hydraulic control valve that replaces the banjo bolt on your current brake system. The Original Lifesaver TCB Valve is designed to withstand well over 3,000 psi before rupture (average operating pressure inside hydraulic braking systems is 0 to 1200 psi), making it one of the strongest parts in your braking system.
If the Valve were to fail, your vehicle's original braking system is still available without leakage. Your brakes will work and feel just like they did before the Original Lifesaver TCB Valve was installed.
Choosing the Right Original Lifesaver TCB Valve
Because it would be impossible to adapt to every vehicle and all driving styles with just one Valve, the Original Lifesaver TCB Valve has four levels to choose from. Each level has been designed so you can customize your brakes based on road and track conditions and your abilities and experience.
TCB Braking Valve applications
Cruisers and Customs
Brake Lock up is a factor in most motorcycle accidents. The value in keeping traction and control of your motorcycle cannot be overstated. When your tyre is sliding, it drastically reduces traction and braking efficiency while dramatically increasing your chances of an accident.
The TCB Baking Valve helps to avoid premature wheel lock up. It increases both the range you feel in your brake levers and your ability to regulate your braking during a quick stop. It also allows your suspension to absorb some of the weight increase instead of just your front tyre, which in turn allows your suspension and braking system to work together giving you more control throughout the braking process.
Sport Bikes
Sport Bikes have a low centre of gravity and are made for cornering at higher speeds. During these manouvers the amount of tyre or "footprint" of the tyre is very important. Any sudden braking or wheel lock up can be potentially dangerous. The additional wheel rotation the TCB Valve Unit provides you during agressive braking is a definite advantage.
4 Wheelers and ATVs
A high centre of gravity and wide tyres make ATV and Quad machines more susceptible to flipping over on top of the rider, especially when riding down a hill. Also the faster the ATV is travelling when the brakes lock, the more forward momentum it carries making it much easier for it to tip over. Because of this factor, avoiding premature locking up of the brakes is very important.
The TCB Valve helps prevent lock up and gives you more confidence when faced with this situation as well as braking in turns or while turning. Although there are two smaller calipers at the front end of most ATVs you only need one TCB valve as long as it is mounted at the master cylinder. If not, one unit for each caliper is recommended. The rear wheel usually uses only one caliper for both wheels, in this situation you can install the TCB Valve at the caliper or at the Master cylinder.
Scooters
As scooters are becoming moe and more popular, there is an increase of less experienced riders in potentially dangerous traffic situations. Because Scooters have a small wheel diameter, there is less tyre in contact with the road making any kind of wheel lock up very dangerous. The TCB Valve helps to prevent this from happeing.
Off Road / Motocross
Off road riding and Racing is a sport that has many low turns with little or no traction. In this situation the benefits of the TCB Valve are immediately noticeable. More aggressive braking coming into turns becomes a huge advantage in track times. Advantages in braking after jumps and avoidance manouvers are also immediately apparent. As dirt bikes are lightweight, downhill braking has always been a difficult situation. The TCB Unit significantly lowers the chances of the front wheel locking, causing a front end washout or sending the rider over the bars.
Never assume the TCB Valve will completely eliminate wheel lock up!
Your brakes can still lock up with a TCB unit installed, it just happens at a different level, where the added control will work to your advantage.
